The Ultimate
South American Smokehouse
The Longhorn Smokehouse is a South American-inspired smokehouse restaurant that celebrates the finest Tasmanian produce, including the renowned Robbins Island Wagyu. Designed to be a family-friendly signature dining destination for the Casino, The Longhorn combines rustic charm with sophistication through its use of timber, aged leather, metal studs, butcher’s block, and a curated selection of antique objects. The space is thoughtfully adorned with antique banding irons sourced globally by the client, adding a unique touch.
The venue also features bespoke Texan Longhorn sculptures by artist Jim Mundorf, which inspired both the name and the theme of the restaurant. Metallic photographic panels showcasing Robbins Island Cattle Station by photographers Chris Crerar and John Wiseman further enhance the ambiance. Intelligent design has divided the large area into four distinct, intimate dining zones, ensuring a cozy atmosphere by Altis Architecture.
The ALMA team meticulously collaborated with the Architects & Designers to ensure seamless integration of our lighting, manufacturing and supplying our D40 Detroit Bowlers, as the main accent lighting feature in this project.
